The Swedish leather artist Carina Sohl has specialized in the development of a new method to design and hand-emboss patterns on leather, using natural plants from the Swedish countryside.

The organic materials form irregular, beautiful and vibrant patterns which are all unique. The handcrafting process is complicated, demands time and love, and only allows small quantities.

To create patterns with natural plants, requires a completely different kind of artistic and craft process which are impossible to reproduce with modern printing plates and line production. The organically grown raspberry leaf will be pressed down onto the leather material and form an exact detailed embossment.

In the process of printing the leaf will be destroyed, therefore each print will be unique and a highly individual piece of art. Look really closely and you will discover the various leaves, small fine veins and forms, with folded corners or worm holes.
